26 October 2012 – Dagupan City. The year-long celebration of the “Year of Faith” will be launched in the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan on 3 November 2012, Saturday with a mass to be presided by Archbishop Socrates B. 11 October 2012 – 24 November 2013

With his Apostolic Letter of October 11, 2011,Porta Fidei. . . , Pope Benedict XVI declared that a "Year of Faith" will begin on October 11, 2012 and conclude on November 24, 2013. October 11, 2012, the first day of the Year of Faith, is the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. . . (Vatican II) and also the twentieth anniversary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. During the Year of Faith, Catholics are asked to study and reflect on the documents of Vatican II and the catechism so that they may deepen their knowledge of the faith.

The upcoming Year of Faith is a “summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the One Savior of the world” (Porta Fidei 6). In other words, the Year of Faith is an opportunity for Catholics to experience a conversion – to turn back to Jesus and enter into a deeper relationship with him. The “door of faith” is opened at one’s baptism, but during this year Catholics are called to open it again, walk through it and rediscover and renew their relationship with Christ and his Church

“Amtaen,  Ipakanad Bilay, Silibraan so Pananisia!”

Archbishop Socrates B. Villegas exhorts the faithful in the celebration of the Year of Faith. “Faith is believing, living CHEAP LEVITRA PRESCRIPTION Here is a beneficial individual to help you out. The Archbishop’s exhortation has become the rallying point of the launching: “Amtaen” (faith is knowing), “Ipakanad bilay” (faith is  living), “silibraan” (faith is worhsipping).

“The ‘Year of Faith’ is both personal and communitarian, adhering fully to what Christ (the primary subject of faith) proposes. We want this ‘Year of Faith’ to arouse in every believer the aspiration to profess the faith in fullness and with renewed conviction, with confidence and hope. It will also be a already written essays good opportunity to intensity the celebration of the faith in the liturgy, especially in the Eucharist, which is ‘The summit towards which the activity of the church is directed… the source from which all its power  flows’. At the same time we make it our prayer that believers’ witness of life may grow in credibility.”

Live Christ, Share Christ

The launching borrows the theme of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ (CBCP) exhortation  on the Era of New Evangelization which is the nine year preparation of the Philippine church for the fifth centenary (500) of the coming of Christianity to the Philippines. This nine-year spiritual journey will culminate with the great jubilee of 2021.  “It is a grace-filled event of blessings for the Church starting October 21, 2012 until March 16, 2021.”
