Circular 2011/26: Archdiocesan Theology Seminary

August 31, 2011

Tenth Anniversary of Episcopal Ordination

My  brothers in the priesthood:

Time and again in informal discussions and fraternal gathering, the matter of opening a theological seminary for the formation of our own future priests within our ecclesiastical province has been brought forward. The time has come for us to seriously consider this proposal in the context of prayerful discernment and fraternal consultation.

As an initial step in the process, we have constituted an ad hoc commission to study extensively the advantages and disadvantages of opening an archdiocesan theological seminary under the chairmanship of Bishop Renato Mayugba with the following priests as members: Father Mario Morales, Father Jeremias Cera, Father Oliver Mendoza and Father Nicasio Villamil.

You are kindly requested to bring forth to any member of the ad hoc commission your valued opinions on this very important matter for the archdiocese so that we can arrive at a decision in the context of prayer and communal discernment.

I plead with you to offer prayers and sacrifices so that the will of God may be clearly shown to  us on such an important Church concern that will certainly affect the future of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

Oremus pro invicem.

Sincerely yours,

Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan
